Well... she's been unbanned from the kitchen since she started walking.. which is 3 months ago.. and she loves helping mommy in the kitchen. Luckily most of our drawers don't have handles, so she can't pull it. But for some reason she knows how to open the lazy susan drawer. So we put child proofing stuff on some drawers, but we let her have 2 drawers that she can play with. One drawer is where I put all the baking pan and cutting board. The other one which is the Lazy susan contains canned & jar goods. She loves to play with them, but we're just worry that the can will drop on her lil feet and she will not be happy for sure.

So tonight we re-arranged our drawer, we put most of the heavy stuff at the back and put her canned good plastic toys in it. I got those from goodwill, still sealed and complete set for like 2 dollars I think :D. Isn't it so cute!!! I bet she will be so happy & excited tomorrow going thru the drawer.

Carissa Signing Baby

I bought her some dvds for Sign Language for Babies (Baby Signing Time) since we've been watching their clips from youtube and Carissa seems like them. All the songs are so fun and catchy.

Carissa has been watching the DVD for the past week I think, and there's the opening song that Carissa loves it. The lyric is "Baby.. Baby... Baby Signing Time.." and Carissa has been saying Baby.. baby.. for the past few days.. and I never thought of that DVD... but out of no where when I asked her "Carissa what's Baby?" and then she signed it right away. How cute!!!!

Today she also signed 'Cheese' she likes cheese.. and 'Doll' so 3 more new words for today!! :). I'm so proud of her.

Brief Updates

Sorry... mommy has been very busy with shoes order. Anyway since last weekend, Carissa has been a chatter box. She loves to say 'Hi' to everyone she sees. She likes to wave bye bye, her words these days are: Ball, Dada, Pappa, Hi, Puppy, Kitten, No.

Sing language that she knows so far: Milk, more, food/eat, all done, please, thank you, (new stuff) hat, shoes, brush teeth, sleepy.

We've been very busy these days, I try to manage at least making 2 pair of shoes in 1 day and still taking Carissa out for an activity and socialize with other kids.

She loves playing with water too, she always bring her shoes to me and wants me to put the shoes on her. Then she will walk towards the door... *sigh* it means she wants to dip herself in her kiddie pool.

Anyway.. that's all for now I guess.. Oooo she has total of 12 teeth i think.

Doodoo came to town

The Sanculis came to town today, we had so much fun.. a lil bit awkward at first since we chat & talk every single day.. but we never met in person. So Finally today we saw them.. :) They're such a cool people.. I really wish they live close by.

I managed to get 3 dishes from Thai Kitchen and I made some Indonesian food for them too. And they still get some to bring back home. They live like 3 hrs away from here :(. No idea when are we going to be able to see them again.

Anyway, I will post more pictures later since they took more pictures than I did.

Carissa's Sunday

This weekend was a blast. Carissa had so much fun with grandma & grandpa, auntie e, uncle mont, and the 2 cousins. She imitates sounds/words so good now. She can say ball, pa-pa, da-da, ma-ma, kitten, no.. etc etc. She even can do a fake cough imitating her pappa (grandpa). So cute!



After lunch, Carissa play outside with her cousins & daddy & uncle mont. Then.. time to go home... but we swing by at Toys'r'us on the way home and we bought outdoor toys that was on sale. We got her the River Run Water Park.



Finally we got home by 6-ish... we played outside for a lil bit and set up the river run water park. Carissa even dip herself into the lil pool.

Anyway.. we had a blast.. now I'm so ready for bed... g'nite everyone.. we love you so so so so so so much. Thanks for being a part of Carissa's life.

I think this was on Tuesday, we went to the mall with Lan & Alex.

Busy Day

Today we started our day by slept in a lil bit. Carissa woke up at 7:22am, and then we just relaxed, ate breakfast and watched morning cartoon till her nap time.

She took a nap around 9:30 till 11:30 so we missed the baby talk program. Then off we go to start our day. First we went to get lunch for daddy, went to daddy's office and dropped off his lunch.

Then we went to the library, played a lil bit till around 1-ish. After that we went to super walmart to get Carissa's Soymilk & whole milk. We got home by 2, nap time for the lil princess.

3:30pm icha woke up and then we were waiting till Micki & Emma came over to play. Emma finally warmed up after few minutes and started playing with carissa. They're so cute together, Emma is so generous, she likes to give and share (she's 17 mos) while Carissa wants her toys *sigh*. Then we went to the park to meet with one of our friends who actually lives close by. We played at the park until 6:20-ish, came home... ate dinner.. and then auntie mony came over and gave icha some souvenir from Disney World. Thanks auntie mony.

Anyway....

Sorry... it's been a while (supposed to be carissa's daily life) becoming carissa's twice a week blog.

Anyway, mommy has been busy making baby shoes as always and other stuff... plus the activities outside the house with icha... life is pretty busy in our household.

Today we didn't do much, carissa took long nap today from 10-12:30.. and then we had lunch. By 2:30 we headed down to Ankeny... just for fun..

Anyway, nothing really interesting going on this weekend. Except she has 3 molars on her bottom gum now.. and she likes to give me big wet kisses with a little bit of bites here and there.. how sweet...

Wading Pool with Alex

Went to the wading pool today with new buddy we met at the library. Alex is a 10 months old baby. He's such a happy baby, and really chubby!!! :) so cute.



After playing at the pool, carissa play a lil bit at the playground. Went back home and she slept for 3 hrs!! she must be really tired.

Recess Go Bananas

Today we had a play date with Emma, we went to Recess Go Bananas. It was a nice place, not too many kids around, which is actually a plus for us who have 13 mos & 17 mos baby. So they can roam around without worrying got run over by a bigger kid.





We had so much fun today, we stayed almost 2 hrs playing. Carissa was so tired but yet she didn't want to nap in the car since now she can watch DVD in the car :).

After attending 3 classes of baby talk at our public library, Carissa has learned 2 more signs. She already knew 'more', 'milk', 'sleepy' and 'all done'. Today she actually signed 'thank you' & 'please' :D so cute. I think she still get 'eat' & 'thank you' mixed up sometimes. But it's okay.. we get it.. :)

Some people hesitant to teach their baby sign language, because they're afraid will slow the speaking ability of their babies. I think as long as you sign while you say the word, should be okay. Plus I heard usually baby who speak more than 1 language intent to speak later than the one-language speaking babies.

I think it's nice for us that Carissa can actually "communicate" to us rather than screaming like a monkey :D. (tho she still scream once in a while when she gets frustrated).

Playground for Kids

Forgot to upload these pictures. We went to the indoor playground for kids in Anekny, there are not a lot of activities for Carissa's age but they have about 3 play houses that carissa can play. They have about 8 inflatables, but Carissa not really know what to do with it (yet).

Well.. today Aling & AJ went to visit us, it's so much fun seeing AJ & Icha can walk every where now. It's so much fun watching them both grow together.

After AJ & his mommy left we decided to go to the park as a family. We went to Emma McCarthy Lee park, near our house (well.. .we still have to drive).



Carissa saw a black lab puppy, she loves the puppy tho it keep on barking at her, she just stood there and didn't scare at all. She even laughed at the puppy.



Then we walked on the trail. It's really nice... except for the bugs... LOTS of bugs. eeekk...

PS: Carissa is officially wearing hard sole shoes (still light one) but hard sole. Bought one from wal-mart for 5 bucks :D hihihih.

Carissa's First Powwow

Yesterday we went to the first powwow for Carissa & I :). For those of you who don't know what's powwow is, here's the wikipedia link explaining what's a pow-wow



We had so much fun, except it was too hot yesterday. But Carissa didn't mind :D

Still no idea what we're going to do today.. my body is all aching from yesterday and last week :D.
