Carissa Dedication Day

Today we finally got a chance to dedicate Carissa. For some of you who don't know what child dedication is. Here's some brief explanation:

What is Baby/Child Dedication?
Baby dedication and child dedication are the act of giving back to God the gift he has given you as parents. It is an act of worship, thanksgiving, dependence, trust, and commitment. The practice of child dedication has been modeled throughout the Bible.

The Israelites brought their 8-day-old children to the priest for blessing. Hannah (I Samuel 1:24-28) brought her long-awaited son Samuel to the priest Eli to dedicate him to the Lord. Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple for his dedication.
We recognize that salvation only comes to a child through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is not passed on to a child through dedication. Parents covenant to raise their children by modeling Godly principles with the desire that one day, their children will receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Big Thank you for everyone who came and be part of our special day. We really appreciate it.

Ho Ho Ho Tree

Today we finally put our Christmas tree up, Carissa had so much fun putting the ornaments up. It was fun especially because grandma & grandpa are here with us. :) We put Thomas the train around the tree this year, so Carissa can play with it all the time :).

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving everyone.

We had a great thanksgiving this year, Carissa was so great, she played like most kids does. So most of the time she was somewhere with Megan. She loves her cousin.. Megan (top picture).

Great food, great family, so grateful for everything. And yes I'm so thankful for Carson too :D

Native American Headdress

Thanksgiving is around the corner, I need to learn how to be thankful for what I have.

A wonderful family, our house, the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and watch my children grow. I'm thankful for everything and will keep counting my blessings.

Strawberry Shortcake Fans

Strawberry Shortcake is coming back now, and I have no idea why she likes her so much. Since it's still hard to find a toddler t-shirt, I just bought a plain red long sleeves t-shirt from a consignment store in town for only $1.50 and used an iron-on transfer paper and printed out & ironed it on the t-shirt. She LOVES it!! :)

Big Girl Room

Last Friday my mother & father in law came over and helped cleaned and painted the baby room (thank you soo much). You can view the baby room here. So on Saturday Carson helped moved the crib and changing table from Carissa's bedroom to the baby room *YAYYYY*

So now.. Carissa room was a total mess (top picture), I ended up spending 2-3 hrs to rearrange & clean her room... Carissa loves her reading area, once in a while I couldn't find her and found her in her room reading :) so cute.

Halloween 2009

Carissa had so much fun trick or treating last Friday. We went to the downtown trick or treating, and she had so much fun went from store to store saying "happy halloween" and "trick or treat" not to forget to say "thank you" after she received candy.

I told her to share her candies with her cousins Marcus and Blayke and she actually more than happy to share it with them.

The next day (which is Saturday) it's the trick or treating day in our town. I didn't take her out for candies, but we taught her how to give back and share candies to everyone. So we dressed her up in her costume and let her give the candies to all the kids that rang our door bell. She loved to give back which is really good.
