UP UP UP

Today we actually went to a movie theater together (Carissa & I). I was thinking about it all week, googling about how to take your toddler to a movie theater and all that. Most of the forums said "DO NOT take your toddler" since they can't sit still and have a short attention span.

But this morning Carissa actually came up to me and said "mommy watch up" so I put the UP movie trailer on my laptop and she watched it. I asked her "do you want to watch up?" and she said "YES".

So we went to the early bird show (11am), it's only $4.50 per person. When we got there the movie theater still closed, but Carissa went straight to the UP poster outside the theater and said "Mommy UP!" She got soooo excited.

We got in the theater, she sat by herself at first but she's too light for the chair so she didn't sit comfortably. Finally she sat on my lap the whole time till about 12:30pm, she knows it's lunch time so she wanted to go. Then we went home, ate lunch and now she's napping :).

Here's the tips for mommy who wants to bring their toddler to the movie:
1. Get to the movie late (skip the previews)
2. Bring their milk, juice, crackers.
3. Sit at the aisle so you can get out easily
4. They actually have booster seat if you need one
5. just relax, no body cares... it's a kid's movie.. most of the people in the theater bring their kids too.
6. Go to the matinee show.. less crowd.

Since she had some trouble sleeping in her new bed, we decided to let her pick the decoration for her room and decorate it. She actually picked the dora theme, and it was on sale at wal-mart for $7 per border. So we got 2 borders and 1 decoration that was on sale too. Then we put some glow in the dark stars on her ceiling and she did 3 stars on her wall.

Now she LOVES her room, she calls her room the "dora room" :)

Today we went to the Science Center of Iowa the whole morning.. from 9:30-ish am to 12pm. Carissa had so much fun, and mommy too, plus she still free till July :D

Carissa and Mommy went to Des Moines for playdate and gave daddy a half day off so he can clean up the garage and the basement, preparing our house for the boys & erica to move in with us next month. So Carissa and I went to Ringga's house first since the playdate is not till 10. And I got there by 9, no idea why, maybe she's just so sick of playing with boys all the time. When we got there she said "no AJ no mommy..no aj" hahah I thought it was funny.

Then we went to our new friend's house name Laurel, she's a friend of Vone and she has a 21 months old son name Memphis (MJ). He's so cute! and so smart!. They have 2 dogs but we only saw 1 of them Carissa took this picture. She actually took the camera from me, and turned it on and snap the picture!

We didn't do much in the morning since she got up around 9am (nice :D) but after her nap we went to see my college friend, she and her husband just moved back to ames again after 3 years lived in Japan and another 3 or 4 yrs in Illinois.

After visited them, we went to the Carr Pool (the ames public pool that will closed when the new aquatic center open in July). Since the pool is so close to my friend's house she ended up joined us in the wading pool.

We also met my other mom's friend. So there were Carissa, Jack and Alex. It was so much fun! Carissa loves the big pool more than the wading pool. But the big pool was so cold that day. Still.. she wants the big pool..

We went to Boone Scenic Railroad with daddy, we didn't go to the scenic train ride since it's 1 hr and 45 mins ride and I don't think Carissa can hold still for that long. BUT when we got there they have the electric trolley that runs only Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm. We got there at 4, so we still could catch the 4pm rides. Carissa LOVES the train ride even tho it's only went for few mins and sloooooowwww :D

Pool Video

Big Girl Bed

I didn't mean to move her to the big girl bed from her crib. She decided for herself, on Tuesday night she woke up around 11-ish kept on refusing to go to bed. But I finally put her down in her crib around 1-ish after a LOT of drama and tears.

The next day (wednesday) for nap, I put her down in her crib, she got up right away and told me "no no no night night" so I asked her where do you want to go night night? she pointed at the big bed next to her crib. I asked her again "do you want to sleep on the big bed?" she said "yes" so I put her down, read some books to her and I told her it's time for night night. First she had some trouble settling in, but after half an hour playing and reading her books she was out.

Last night she actually slept there again "big bed" that's what she called her big girl bed. Even though she had some hard time settling down again last night. Finally after 1/2 an hour I went in her room and told her if she's not going to sleep, I will move her into her crib again. She said "No", so I told her to close her eyes... then she covered her eyes with her lil hands and went to sleep. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW she's such a big girl.....

Water Fun!!

These past 2 days the weather has been AWESOME! so we took advantage of the weather with playing outside most of the time. Also not to forget going on a bus ride.

We actually drove to the nearest bus stop and waited there, we took a bus to the city hall and hy-vee yesterday. It was fun, Carissa got soooo excited that she even start talking to anyone in the bus stop. She's telling them she's going on the bus again, and she pretty much talk and talk and talk.

Today we went to her art class, and then the library. After that we went home for lunch and I let Carissa play in her lil kiddie pool.

Now it's nap time and I have to get some work done.. :)

She's getting more and more expert on using the mouse and clicking on the stuff that she wants to do on the computer. She knows how to pick the character and then play their videos. So cute! :)

We went on the bus to the library just for fun :). Carissa loves the bus ride, everytime the bus stop she said "More Bus.. More Bus" :) so cute.

Tinkerbell Sleeping Gown

Elaine made this gown for her 4 yrs old daughter but it's too narrow on top, so she gave it to Carissa :).

I still need to fix the lenght, but she looks so cute in it! and she loves it. Thanks Elaine!

Saturday Fun

We went to the farmer's market here in town, they had a train day. Nothing really special beside this lil train that carissa LOVES, it was a heart breaking when it's time to leave. :(

And then we went to the Sen's house for dinner, Burak is 3.5 yrs old and loves to pull with Carissa.

Overall it's a very fun day too today. Especially when the part where mommy could escaped from the house lil bit to go to Elaine's house to help her out making a tote :). Thanks daddy!! :)

ELMOOOOOO

Today we went to see Elmo Live in Des Moines, Carissa LOVES it! even mommy loves the show too :).

We sat the third row from the stage and almost at the isle, since there was no one sitting there, Carissa and mommy sat there so Carissa can give the sesame street characters hugs.

She got a chance to hug baby bear, ernie, rosita, and cookie monster. No hugs from elmo :( he's too busy.
